At our school, literacy is not just a whole-school priority – it is our passion. Reading
and language are at the heart of everything we do, and our students and staff share
a genuine love for books and storytelling. Our library is truly the heart of our school –
a vibrant hub for clubs, themed events, and informal book talk that inspires curiosity
and connection. Students play an active role in shaping our collection, choosing
books that reflect their interests and voices. Beyond displays and posters, we
promote subject-specific literacy through meaningful practice, supported by
evidence-based research that informs many of our initiatives. Well-planned and
carefully delivered interventions, alongside competitions, clubs, and trips, further
strengthen our whole-school literacy vision — ensuring that every learner has the
opportunity to develop the skills, confidence, and joy that come from being literate.
