PSHCE Curriculum

INTENT:

PSHCE at IGHS will focus on creating confident communicators who are able to understand and respect the value of living as British citizens. We consider real life scenarios and work on projects for facing real life problems and to engage with the modern world. We will work in order to gain experiences from the community around them. Our students will put together portfolios and collect evidence of investigations and projects that they conduct. They will understand a range of reasons why people conduct life the way they do and deal with certain situations which will encourage them to adapt these to their own life experiences.

PSHCE prepares the students for their future by encouraging students to accept and tolerate all cultures and races. It also allows students to be prepared for their future to communicate effectively in a range of different situations. In citizenship students are made aware of the communities and countries they live in and allows them to adhere to the laws and become a good citizen in the country they live in.
