Throughout the year, we run a wide range of themed events including Black History
Month, National Poetry Day, Anti-Bullying Week, World Book Day, Women’s History
Month, Stress and Mental Awareness Week, Shakespeare’s Day, and many more.
To celebrate these occasions, we stock our library with a diverse range of books
linked to each theme, giving students the opportunity to truly immerse themselves in
new ideas, cultures, and perspectives.
Some examples are included below:

National poetry day and teacher appreciation day

Students celebrated both of these events by preparing and performing dedicated poetry for their teachers. This creative showcase allowed them to express their thoughts, emotions, and individuality through words, while building confidence and strengthening the connection between students and staff. It was a powerful reminder of how literacy can inspire, unite, and give every student a voice.
